Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
A neurodevelopmental disorder, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), influences behaviour, social interaction, and communication. Its degree and symptoms vary; hence, every person's experience is different. ASD typically receives a diagnosis in early childhood, despite symptoms appearing as early as infancy. Common traits include repetitive behaviour, trouble deciphering social signals, and increased sensitivity to sensory inputs.
Though the precise origin of ASD is yet unknown, studies point to environmental and genetic elements influencing its development. Early intervention greatly enhances results with behavioural therapy, speech therapy, and instructional help, among others. While some people with ASD need lifetime help, others acquire abilities to live on their own.
ASD is a different perspective on the world rather than a condition. As society acknowledges the strengths of neurodiverse people, more inclusion and support structures follow. Ensuring people with ASD get the respect and chances they are due depends critically on awareness and acceptance. Communities can enable individuals with ASD to flourish and realise their full potential by creating inclusive environments.
